Each month, Classical Conversations publishes a Parent Connections newsletter for CC families a curated blend of encouragement, curriculum updates, member benefits, and community resources. The May 2026 issue arrives just in time for Motherās Day, featuring a message from CC founder Leigh Bortins, new Latin merchandise, summer field trip guides, and a spotlight on the CC Undergraduate Program. Whether youāre a longtime CC family or exploring classical Christian homeschooling for the first time, hereās everything in this monthās newsletter.
A Founding Motherās Message for Homeschool Moms
This Motherās Day, the May newsletter opens with a message of deep encouragement rooted in Proverbs 31:28 ā āHer children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.ā CC founder Leigh Bortins draws on the example of Abigail Adams, who in the spring of 1776 managed a farm, cared for the sick, and kept her household going while her husband helped birth a nation.
The message is a reminder that the work of a homeschool mom ā the hours at the table, the lessons repeated with patience, the prayers at the end of a long day ā is never unseen by God. What you are building at home is a legacy.

Classical Skills in the Foundations Program
The May newsletter includes a spotlight on the CC Foundations program and the classical skills it cultivates. Each week, Foundations families gather in community for three hours to practice the skills of learning through songs, chants, movement, Hands-On Science, Hands-On Fine Arts, and student presentations. Parents attend alongside their children, learning the classical model together.
Foundations cycles through three years of content, so families can join at any point. A Tutor introduces new grammar each week and reviews it through engaging games and activities. At home, short daily practice helps students retain what they learn in community. Families are encouraged to look for the joy of discovery on community day ā students learning about ancient civilizations, singing timelines while marching ā and to trust that the steady rhythm of memory work builds a foundation for all future learning.
