How like a chord community can be,
A fellowship of voices as a whole,
Resounding in incarnate harmony
Made lovely when the voices share one goal.
Oh, friends and countrymen, lend me your ears;
No reader of this rhyme needs stand alone.
You’re in a song surrounded by your peers;
You’re in a chord whose notes are flesh and bone.
Now, music isn’t void of stress and strain-
Oblivious to tension and release-
Much sweeter when the sound of the refrain,
Resolves the discord with a voice of peace.
And though the single soloist is free,
Harmonious alone can never be.
