Early August is either an exciting time or a terrifying time as a homeschool parent, depending on your perspective and your level of preparedness. For most Classical Conversations’ parents and their children, this is a very exciting time of year!
The traditional back-to-school shopping trips are still fun, even if you do all your shopping online. Buying new pencils, pens, notebooks, maybe even a new outfit, should be fun for parent and child alike.
Late July and early August are the time for Parent Orientations, Challenge Boot Camps, getting to know your new tutors, assembling your notebooks, etc. Then comes the really fun part: The first Community Day! While some communities start this week, others may not begin for another month, but the excitement is the same. Students meeting old friends after the summer break, and parents meeting old friends—a CC community is built on relationships; it’s a microcosm of the body of Christ.
Do you have all your resources ready to participate in your first Classical Conversations Community Day? If you haven’t already made your curriculum list for the fall and checked it twice, go through your list now!
Classical Conversations programs are starting, or preparing to start, all around the world! Students and parents will be coming together in learning communities designed to cultivate a love of learning, as well as a love of God. As you prepare for the start of this academic year, please take a moment to be sure that you and your family have all the materials needed to ensure a fruitful year.
