“Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ…” – 2 Corinthians 5:20a
You hear the word “ambassador” used frequently. There are ambassadors to and for nations, product ambassadors, ambassadors for films, and more! What is an ambassador? The dictionary definition says they are one of two things: 1.) “An accredited diplomat sent by a country as its official representative to a foreign country,” and 2.) “a person who acts as a representative or promoter of a specified activity.”
Those of us who are participating in CC Shirt Day for Spirit Week currently are being ambassadors for Classical Conversations. Whatever you are an ambassador for, you want to support it and be a good representation of its values. Those of us who are Christians are also ambassadors for Christ to the world. It’s our job to be good representatives of who God is and what He stands for.
How do we do this? Get to know Him deeply. Learn all you can about Him, what He loves and what He hates, and then live in a way that depicts that. If you were going to represent your nation or even just a brand you like, you’d want to read up about it so that you can give an accurate representation. If you haven’t yet today, set aside some time to dive into the Bible and use it to learn all you can about God’s character!
