Annaleigh, North Carolina

National Memory Master Finalist Annaleigh from North CarolinaAnnaleigh has been in Classical Conversations for seven years and, with the help of her parents, Chris and Stephanie, is a four-time Memory Master. She enjoys classical ballet, piano, and pickleball, and her favorite subjects are grammar, Latin, and presentations. When asked how she successfully became a Memory Master four times, Annaleigh shared, “Ten minutes a day goes a long way.”

Auburn, Kansas

National Memory Master Finalist Auburn from KansasAuburn is a four-time Memory Master who enjoys crocheting, drawing, reading, and swimming, and her favorite subjects are history, geography, Latin, and math. She and her parents, Jay and Mary, have participated in Classical Conversations for five years. Auburn encouraged other Foundation students who want to be a Memory Master, saying, “If you are really and truly committed, review constantly (several days a week), pay attention in review with your Tutor, and start preparing early. Hard work pays off!”

National Memory Master Finalist Cora from TexasCora enjoys musical theatre, piano, books, and dog sitting. Her favorite subjects are literature and writing. Her family has participated in Classical Conversations for ten years, and with the help of her parents, Benjamin and Stephanie, Cora has achieved Memory Master five times. Cora advised other Foundations students who want to be Memory Masters, saying, “Set your mind to it and don’t turn back. It is so satisfying in the end. Also, find some great coloring books to use while you practice memory work!”

National Memory Master Finalist Cornelius from North CarolinaCornelius has been in Classical Conversations for five years, and with the help of his parents, Moses and Jenny, is a five-time Memory Master. He enjoys playing basketball, soccer, and video games, and his favorite subjects are math and history. Moses and Jenny shared, “While Cornelius certainly received some help from us, it was encouraging to see him take initiative in making progress in preparation of competing in the National Memory Master Competition.”

National Memory Master Finalist Evan from North CarolinaEvan is a three-time Memory Master who enjoys playing baseball, mountain biking, and writing comics. His favorite subjects are history and science. Evan and his parents, Russ and Hilary, have participated in Classical Conversations for eight years. Russ and Hilary reflected on Evan’s time in Classical Conversations: “As a CC student, Evan has developed a great capacity for memory work and knowledge of how all new grammar subjects intersect to show the Lord’s wisdom and glory.”

National Memory Master Finalist Evangeline from FloridaEvangeline enjoys musical theatre, reading, writing, and crocheting. Her favorite subjects are history, geography, and literature. Her family has participated in Classical Conversations for seven years, and with the help of her parents, Jason and Trisha, Evangeline has achieved Memory Master three times. When asked what advice she would offer future Memory Masters, Evangeline said, “I would tell them to work hard and be patient. Becoming a Memory Master doesn’t happen overnight. It requires a lot of practice and consistency. I would also remind them to trust in the Lord because He is the one who gave them their talents.”

National Memory Master Finalist George from ColoradoGeorge has been in Classical Conversations for six years and, with the help of his parents, Peter and Lauren, is a six-time Memory Master. George enjoys playing hockey, and his favorite subjects are history, literature, and music. When reflecting on his experience, George said, “I believe that my preparations have helped me get ready for the next stage in my education—Challenge. The experience has given my family opportunities to spend time working hard together. We’ve made memories!”

National Memory Master Finalist Iyanuoluwa from North CarolinaIyanuoluwa is a seven-time Memory Master who enjoys cross-country running, swimming, and making movies. His favorite subjects are writing and geography. Iyanuoluwa and his parents, David and DeDe, have participated in Classical Conversations for seven years. DeDe shared how Classical Conversations has helped Iyanuoluwa, saying, “Classical Conversations has provided a fun and dynamic curriculum for my student. Starting with the grammar stage has been an easy and accessible way to ignite the joy of learning.”

National Memory Master Finalist Kinley from South CarolinaKinley enjoys piano, soccer, reading, and sewing. Her favorite subjects are Latin, science, and history. Her family has participated in Classical Conversations for seven years, and with the help of her parents, Ben and Stacey, Kinley has achieved Memory Master five times. To encourage future Memory Masters, Kinley said, “Never give up & find fun songs to go along with the memory work!”

National Memory Master Finalist Maria from IllinoisMaria has been in Classical Conversations for eight years and, with the help of her parents, Bob and Lexie, is a seven-time Memory Master. Maria enjoys competing in soccer, playing the flute, reading, and hiking, and her favorite subjects are history, geography, literature, and writing. Maria encourages other Memory Masters, saying, “Being a Memory Master takes diligence in reviewing often, but it is so worth it in the end! You learn so much about working hard through the process!”

National Memory Master Finalist Max from TexasMax is a six-time Memory Master who enjoys 3D printing, raising rabbits and chickens, and playing soccer. His favorite subjects are all of them! Max and his parents, Matt and Gina, have participated in Classical Conversations for twelve years. Max shared some of his experience as a Memory Master, saying, “It’s not an easy task to achieve overnight… it’s an accumulation of many years of hard work. But we have had a lot of fun and have enjoyed the challenge!”

Her family has participated in Classical Conversations for five years, and with the help of her sister, Avery, and parents, Michael and Katheryn, Molly has achieved Memory Master four times. Molly’s parents shared how Classical Conversations has benefited her, saying, “Classical Conversations has allowed our student to thrive through the natural learning stages. Memorizing facts in the grammar stage has built her confidence and eagerness to learn.”

Piper enjoys soccer, theatre, and piano and her favorite subjects are history and art. Josh and AnneMarie described how Memory Master had benefited their daughter, saying, “The process is where the beauty lies. Seeing her set goals and work towards them with diligence, even on unmotivated days, is developing character and perseverance that will serve her for a lifetime.”

National Memory Master Finalist Sarabeth from CaliforniaSarabeth is a four-time Memory Master who enjoys equestrian riding, musical theatre, and competitive swimming. Her favorite subjects are history, art, and writing. Sarabeth and her parents, Stephen and Michele, have participated in Classical Conversations for seven years. Stephen and Michele shared how Classical Conversations has blessed Sarabeth, saying, “CC has laid a foundation for her to see the world through the lens of God’s biblical truth.”

National Memory Master Finalist Sawyer from OklahomaSawyer enjoys building Legos, doing gymnastics, performing science experiments, and being outside. His favorite subjects are math and science. His family has participated in Classical Conversations for sixteen years, and with the help of his parents, Stephen and Lorie, Sawyer has achieved Memory Master seven times. When asked to recount Sawyer’s experience with Classical Conversations, Stephen and Lorie said, “He is a natural learner and has truly gained a deep love of learning. Classical Conversations has exposed him to so many beautiful subjects and laid a solid foundation for him to continue building upon.”

He enjoys playing drums, competing in sports, and reading and his favorite subjects are science, geography, and history. Tommy celebrates the opportunity to compete in National Memory Master, saying, “It’s caused me to rise above what I thought was possible before, and it’s brought my family and me together to see a common goal achieved. My siblings are actually rooting for me.”
