On April 28-30, 2022, we held the Classical Conversations® 25th Anniversary Celebration and National Conference events — sponsored by the nonprofit the Classical Conversations Foundation — to celebrate, learn, and fellowship together with Classical Conversations members from around the nation.

To everyone who joined us, thank you! We hope you enjoyed the events as much as we did. If you couldn’t attend, here’s a brief recap of all that happened:
National Memory Master
The National Memory Master competition was held on Thursday, April 28. From morning to early afternoon, 16 finalists from around the country participating in National Memory Master recited their Foundations memory work to their families and a panel of judges for a grand cash prize of $10,000.
Although all 16 finalists demonstrated astounding competence in memorization and presentation skills, there could only be one winner. Shortly after lunch, when only four contestants remained, the winner was announced: Lincoln Moody!
Congratulations to the families of all our finalists in the 2022 National Memory Master, and a special congratulations to Lincoln and the Moody family!
25th Anniversary Celebration
Thursday evening kicked off our National Conference events with our 25th Anniversary Celebration. There, families got to hear from several speakers on the history of Classical Conversations, including our founder, Leigh Bortins. Also, we sang and worshipped together led by Grammy-award-winning artist and Classical Conversations parent Francesca Battistelli!
National Conference
At the heart of these several days of celebration, learning, and fellowship were our National Conference events from Friday, April 29, through Saturday, April 30. While students participated in outdoor camps with fun activities like an obstacle course and capture the flag, parents visited exhibits from our various sponsors, heard from graduates about their experiences in the Challenge program, and attended speaking sessions hosted by leaders in the homeschooling movement, including both Leigh Bortins and Robert Bortins, CEO of Classical Conversations.
National Commencement
On Friday evening, after a day packed with National Conference events, we celebrated the hard work and dedication of Challenge graduates and their families at our 2022 National Commencement, a formal graduation ceremony! After hearing a commencement address and charge speeches from several graduates, families cheered on students as they were recognized for their efforts and encouraged to pursue wherever God has called them next.
Let’s Do It Again Next Year!
If your family couldn’t celebrate with us this year, we hope you can make it to our 2023 National Conference! We’ve already set the dates for the event as May 4-6, 2023.
At next year’s National Conference, your family can expect to meet other Classical Conversations members from around the nation and enjoy the same quality of speaking sessions, student camps, and exhibitions available in 2022. We hope to see you there!
