Each year, we bring Classical Conversations® families from communities across the nation together in one place through two large events sponsored by the non-profit organization the Classical Conversations Foundation—National Conference and National Commencement.
Now, with the 2023 National Conference and National Commencement announced and fast approaching, we’d like to share what you can expect from these events designed for your whole family to enjoy!
National Conference and National Commencement
Dates are set for the first weekend in May 2023! If you’re a Classical Conversations member and interested in attending either the 2023 National Conference and/or National Commencement, here’s some of what your family can look forward to.
2023 National Conference
Our 2023 National Conference will be held from Thursday, May 4, through Saturday, May 6, at Grace Church and the National Athletic Village in Southern Pines, North Carolina.
These three days will be packed with teaching, encouragement, fellowship, and fun for your whole family. As a parent, you can gain insight into classical education and the larger homeschooling movement from leaders such as Leigh Bortins, Robert Bortins, and IEW’s Andrew Pudewa, while your student can enjoy games and other interactive activities at supervised outdoor camps. And, both parents and students will have the chance to meet other Classical Conversations families from around the country!

2023 National Commencement
The Classical Conversations National Commencement is our formal graduation ceremony for Challenge graduates (who don traditional graduation regalia!) and their parents.
In 2023, this event will be held in conjunction with our National Conference at Grace Church and the National Athletic Village in Southern Pines, North Carolina. This year, National Commencement is a two-part event, with a Graduation Celebration on the evening of Friday, May 5, where graduates get to meet and fellowship with each other before the official ceremony on the afternoon of Saturday, May 6.
Of course, as a homeschool graduation ceremony, National Commencement is more than just celebrating the end of graduates’ homeschooling journeys. It’s also a chance to affirm the hard work and perseverance that parents have dedicated to educating their children successfully through the high school years (which is not an easy thing!).

Mark Your Calendars for May 4–6, 2023!
Both our 2023 National Conference and National Commencement will be here before you know it. If you and your family are interested in attending either of these events, be sure to save your seats soon! To view the registration details, visit the Classical Conversations Foundation’s event webpage.
And don’t forget about National Memory Master! If your student is in the Foundations program and demonstrates an aptitude for memorization skills, consider encouraging them to participate in National Memory Master, in which the final competition takes place just prior to our National Conference events on the morning of Thursday, May 4. If your student is selected to compete, he or she will have the chance to win a grand prize of $10,000!
