Since the release of our all-new Scribblers at Home: Recipes from Lifelong Learners in March 2023, we have received overwhelmingly positive feedback on how this resource is enabling parents to teach their students at home.
Before getting to what our families are saying about Scribblers, we want to first say a huge thank you to all of you who have been using Scribblers so far. After years of effort and hard work spent to get this resource just right (and delaying the release date to make this happen!), we are thrilled it is not only living up to but exceeding your expectations!
Scribblers at Home Early Reviews from Parents
So, what’s there to love about Scribblers at Home: Recipes from Lifelong Learners? Here are just a few reasons parents are raving about this new preschool homeschool resource.
Scribblers Ties It All Together
One piece of feedback we have consistently heard about Scribblers from parents is that it ties the memory work from the Classical Conversations® Foundations program together.
It ties it all together in a neat little bow! I knew in my heart that the memory work makes sense and it all comes together, but to see it in writing in this beautifully put-together curriculum just put the cherry on top!
–Erin
In other words, Scribblers gives students the chance to build on top of their Foundations memory work through hands-on exercises that involve creating, exploring, and experimenting. Or, put more simply, Scribblers offers parents (and perhaps more importantly, students) a reason right from the start of their homeschooling journey for committing all those terms to memory in Foundations!
Preparation for Challenge
I feel like it is just another example of the beauty of what CC offers. I love that they are so conscious of making things flow together (i.e., Challenge formed first and then the other programs being developed and tweaked to provide the best support for that end goal). This resource will be so helpful for connecting my family of wide age ranges (3–14). Playing and interacting with all my kids. Introducing topics and ideas to my youngers while reviewing and making connections with my olders. I am excited!
– Jessica
Many early users of Scribblers have noticed that this book begins to lay the foundation in their children of strong habits that they will carry throughout a lifetime of learning. Another homeschool parent, Natalie, said, “Getting a glimpse into how the early years tie into Challenge. I love having the end goal in mind!”
With this “end goal in mind,” families working through Scribblers will find that their children will develop skills like critical and logical thinking, creativity, and collaboration early on in their academic journey. Then, when they enter the Challenge levels and go beyond to colleges and careers, they will be well-equipped to tackle complex subjects and ideas.
My first reaction with [Scribblers] was, ‘Oh, here’s the glue—here’s where it all comes together.’ And from having a four-year-old, I can know upfront what is the goal, what is the purpose . . . I don’t have to wait until Challenge A for it to start to make sense.
– Carrie
Excellent for the Whole Family
While Scribblers was created for parents to use with their children ages 4–8, families are finding the activities make for great learning opportunities for students of all ages.
It’s the cherry on top!!! Where has this been?!? Such a great resource for ALL families, not just littles.
– Kaitlin
