Two hundred and fifty years of history call for real celebration, and Classical Conversations is inviting families nationwide to commemorate this milestone through meaningful service and student achievement. Here’s how CC families are honoring this milestone — and how your family can join in this year.
CC Day of Service
250 years. 250 communities. One day of service.
Classical Conversations is calling CC families nationwide to celebrate America’s 250th birthday by serving their neighbors. Join the movement the week of September 28, as CC communities across the country put their love of country into action, serving neighbors and celebrating 250 years of American freedom together.
To participate:
- Gather your local CC community and plan a service project.
- Submit the CC participation form by August 15.
- The first 250 communities to sign up receive a stack of limited-edition CC America 250 commemorative stickers.
Essentials Essay Contest
Exciting news for Essentials families! Classical Conversations is launching a student blog contest in honor of America’s 250th anniversary. Essentials students in the U.S. who are registered for the 2026–2027 academic year are invited to submit an original essay.
Contest details:
- 1 essay, 776 words maximum.
- Prompt: Explain what happened on July 4, 1776, and why it matters today.
- Submissions open July 4 and close September 17 (Constitution Day).

Three winners will each receive a $250 prize and have their essay published on the CC blog platform in December.

CC Day of Service is a nationwide day of service organized for and by Classical Conversations families the week of September 28, 2026. CC communities serve their local neighbors together as part of the celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.
Who can enter the Essentials Essay Contest?
Any Essentials student in the U.S. registered for the 2026–2027 academic year can submit one original essay of up to 776 words on the prompt: “Explain what happened on July 4, 1776, and why it matters today.”
