Southern Pines, North Carolina—Homeschool Testing Services, a service of Classical Conversations, Inc., is partnering with Home School Legal Defense Association to promote sales and distribution of current end-of-grade tests to the homeschooling community.
Classical Conversations, under the brands Homeschool Testing Services and Classical Conversations Testing Services, has served tens of thousands of customers over the past decade by distributing and administering nationally-normed standardized tests for homeschool families with students in grades K–12. Through a combined marketing initiative by HSLDA and Classical Conversations,
HTS expects to meet more homeschooling families’ needs for effective standardized assessments with the added requirements of meeting state requirements where necessary.
“This is a very exciting partnership for us,” said Kristy Knapp, HTS testing services manager. “The Home School Legal Defense Association is the most recognized and respected name in homeschooling, and together we can significantly expand both our reach and our services to the homeschooling community.”
Combining HSLDA’s membership base of 80,000 families with CC’s membership base of 45,000 families creates a larger market for the expanded testing service.
“We are thrilled to be able to offer this testing option to our members,” said Chuck Hurst, HSLDA vice president of administration.
For 10 years HTS has administered the Stanford SAT-10 achievement test, first as a paper-and-pencil test and now also as an online test. In spring 2016, HTS began administering a second test, the print-only Comprehensive Testing Program published by Education Records Bureau. HTS expects to continue to administer both tests in the future.
Classical Conversations and HSLDA are in the process of jointly developing marketing communications and plans for offering additional services. Leaders with both CC and HSLDA look forward to working closely together to provide better testing services to the international homeschooling community, according to Scott Whitaker, New Business director for CC.
