Southern Pines, North Carolina — Classical Conversations’® student enrollment went over the 115,000-student milestone last month, making it the largest classical homeschooling organization in the world.
Classical Conversations’ CEO Robert Bortins announced at CC’s 20th anniversary celebration, Oct. 18, that student registration for the fall had gone over 115,000 and should continue to increase for the next few months.
“We have been incredibly blessed by the Lord over the past 10 years,” Bortins said. “We have been roughly doubling the number of enrolled students every four years, and it is a challenge to keep up with this rapid growth. Fortunately, we have a terrific team of employees and contractors who provide tremendous service to our 45,000 homeschooling families.”
Classical Conversations is a classical education resource used by homeschoolers in all 50 states and 22 foreign countries. CC’s tutoring programs are provided by about 2,500 CC communities. CC provides resources, guidance and a community for a Christian home school curriculum using classical education in three developmental stages: grammar, dialectic and rhetoric.
To put CC’s student enrollment into perspective, if all 115, 408 CC students could be assembled in one place, there isn’t a football stadium in America that’s large enough to hold them all.
“When I started Classical Conversations 20 years ago with 11 teenagers in the basement of our Winston-Salem home, little did I realize where God would lead us,” said Leigh Bortins, founder of CC. “While we have always strived to present a quality service to our families, it is God who has given the increase.”
Leigh Bortins started Classical Conversations in 1997. The family-owned company is headquartered in Southern Pines, North Carolina. For more information, visit www.classicalconversations.com.
