The Old Schoolhouse, one of homeschoolingās leading magazines, has awarded First Place in Geography to Classical Conversations in its annual Excellence in Education Awards competition for CCās new book, āExploring the World Through Cartography.ā
More than 2,800 homeschooling parents nominated and voted for homeschool curriculum in 52 different categories selected by The Old Schoolhouse. The winners were selected by The Old Schoolhouse readers and will be formally announced in its upcoming Winter Issue, due out on newsstands Jan. 1.
Memoria Press placed second in the Geography category.
The Old Schoolhouse was first published in 2001, and the Excellence in Education competition has been held annually for more than 10 years.

The hardcover book is 9āx12ā with vivid color art throughout its 208 pages. It contains modern atlases with political maps and physical features, historical maps, blank maps for tracing and drawing practice and beautiful satellite images. It also includes engaging stories about the way geography has affected history and special pages highlighting regional history such as the British tea trade and Chinaās Silk Road.
