Essentials Essay Contest Honors America’s 250th Anniversary
Exciting news for Essentials families! Classical Conversations is launching a student essay contest in honor of America’s 250th anniversary. Essentials students enrolled in the 2026–2027 academic year are invited to submit an original five-paragraph essay using the IEW (Institute for Excellence in Writing) method.

CC Community Day of Service: Celebrating 250 Years the Week of September 28
Classical Conversations is calling CC families nationwide to celebrate America’s 250th birthday by serving their neighbors. The week of September 28, CC communities across the country are invited to put their love of country into action — serving neighbors and celebrating 250 years of American freedom together.
Here’s how to participate:
- Gather your local CC community and plan a service project.
- Submit the CC participation form by August 15.
- The first 250 communities to sign up receive a stack of limited-edition CC America 250 commemorative stickers.

Classical Skills in the Essentials Program
The Essentials program bridges the grammar and dialectic arts for students ages nine to twelve through English grammar studies, writing instruction, and arithmetic drills. Each week, students and parents meet in community for two hours to tackle sentence diagramming, polish writing techniques, and compete in math games such as the beloved National Number Knockout. Your Tutor models the exercises that you’ll practice together at home.
The program walks families through language structure and analysis, writing style, and arithmetic mastery. At home, you’ll work through weekly grammar lessons, craft history-based paragraphs, and sharpen math skills.

The 2026 National Memory Master Winner Is . . . Nikolai from Pennsylvania!
On May 18, 2026, sixteen finalists competed in the Classical Conversations National Memory Master Championship aboard Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas and showcased their incredible memory skills. After a series of challenging rounds that tested even the most prepared competitors, Nikolai claimed the prestigious title and a grand prize.
